Recipe (makes about 25)

  • 50 g fresh yeast
  • 4 1/2 dl lukewarm water
  • 1/2 dl Tropical Mango Passion juice
  • 1 tablespoon margarine
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 tablespoons syrup
  • 1 dl raisins
  • 2 dl grain mixture
  • 6 dl wholemeal flour
  • approx. 4 dl plain flour

Crumble the yeast into the bowl and add a bit of the lukewarm water and stir.

Add the juice, margarine, salt and syrup. Thereafter, pour the grain mixture, wholemeal flour and plain flour, a little at a time, and work it all together until the dough is smooth and firm.

Cover the bowl and let the dough rise and rest for about 40 minutes.

Kneed the dough on a floured table and roll it out into two lengths.

Make small balls of the dough and place them on the parchment papers on the baking sheets.

Cover the buns with a tea towel and let them rise for about 30 minutes.  Meanwhile, put the oven on at 225 degrees C.

Bake the buns in the middle of the oven for about 10-15 minutes.

Brush them with water after you have taken them out from the oven.

Let them cool on a wire rack.

Previously, I have baked loads of sweet pastries. Therefore, I decided to bake some bread for a change. The result is some home-baked and yummy Carrot Bread Buns. 🙂

SandSB Carrot Bread Buns

Recipe (makes 15-20 bread buns)

  • 50 g fresh yeast
  • 5 dl lukewarm water
  • 4 dl grated carrot
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 250 g cottage cheese
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 4 dl wholemeal flour
  • approx. 12-13 dl plain flour

Crumble the yeast into the bowl and add a bit of the lukewarm water and stir.

Then add the rest of the water and the rest of the ingredients.

Mix and kneed it all together until you get a smooth and firm dough. Save a bit of the plain flour.

Let the dough rest and rise under a tea towel for about one hour.

Put the rest of the flour on the surface of the table.

Kneed the dough for a bit and cut out 15-20 pieces of the dough (depending on the size you want to have).

Roll the pieces into balls and flatten them out a bit.

Place them on the parchment paper onto a baking sheet.

Bake in the middle of the oven for about 25 minutes on 200 degrees C.

Take them out from the oven and brush the buns with cold water.
